Black Moms Connection Financial Literacy Program for those living in Western Canada!

Greetings,

My name is Amy, and I work with Black Moms Connection Financial Literacy Program - FinLit U NationalFinLit Universe is the Black Moms Connection financial literacy program designed for and by the Black Community, specifically for Black mothers.

Black Moms Connection strongly believes that financial literacy is essential to building generational wealth and breaking cycles of poverty. We are committed to making progress that helps our community receive the knowledge it needs to succeed. Today we're jumping into your inbox to share an exciting new program!

Our popular FinLitU program is now NATIONAL and back for a third cohort! Thanks to our sponsor TD Bank - TD Readiness and member feedback, we are proud and excited to announce that our third National Cohort is open for applications from Black Mothers in our communities in Western Canada, such as Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia.

This program has successfully supported hundreds of moms in Ontario and we look forward to supporting and empowering moms in other provinces. It is designed to provide practical advice on topics such as budgeting, saving, investing, and credit management. We'll also cover important topics like budgeting, saving, taxes, and generational wealth.

FinLitUniverse cohorts are led by a team of experienced black financial experts who understand the unique challenges facing our community. We believe our approach, which is rooted in cultural competence and understanding, will make a meaningful difference in the lives of many people.

The program details are as follows:

Sessions will be held every Saturday for four weeks (April 6 - 27). Each week, we will be focused on the following subjects: Budgeting and Savings, Credit, Wills and Estates, and Generational Wealth.

  • Cohort 3 runs virtually, the month of April, every Saturday for four weeks from 10am - 2pm eastern standard time with a 30 minute lunch break

  • Each cohort will have 10-15 participants

  • Every week will focus on a new subject, and a different speaker

  • Program is for Black Moms living in Western Canada - Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and/or British Columbia, and is free to register, any class materials will be included

  • Participants must be available for the duration of all the sessions, and complete the required surveys by due dates provided

If you are interested, please fill out the form and we will contact you once we begin the acceptance process. The third cohort begins the first week of April and we would love for you to share this life-changing opportunity with your network. Those interested can apply HERE, or find out more on our website HERE.

Please feel free to share this with someone that may benefit from participating in our program.
